Carpet Cleaning FAQs
How soon can I walk on my carpets after they have been cleaned?
Depending on the process used, most carpeting will be dry in about an hour. Many factors play a role in the drying time such as temperature, airflow, humidity, fiber type, and the degree of treatment involved in the cleaning. We recommend you stay off damp carpets if possible.
How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?
Carpet cleaning frequency will depend on the usage of the particular room. Carpets are a lot like automobile tires – some wear out faster than others, depending on how they are used and cared for. Today, while soil removal and appearance are still a primary concern, cleaning for health is also a major factor. Carpets are like sinks - the soil and bacterial levels continue to rise until drained (cleaned). We recommend either quarterly or semi-annual cleaning for more heavily used rooms and/or areas. A yearly cleaning is normally satisfactory for lesser-used rooms.
Household Frequency
2 adults Every 6-12 months
w/smokers Every 6 months
w/children or pets Every 3-6 months
w/children and pets Every 2-4 months

Post cleaning recommendations
Thank you for the opportunity to clean and/or restore your carpets. To ensure the appearance of your carpet, we recommend you follow these simple suggestions:
-
Keep traffic to a minimum on your freshly cleaned carpet. This is especially true for your furry friends who may track dirt on damp carpeting. Clean socks and/or shoes are recommended until the carpet is fully dry.
-
BE CAREFUL when walking from your freshly cleaned carpets to any hard floor surfaces to avoid slips and falls. Your carpets need time to dry. This time will vary depending on humidity, temperature, and the process used. To help dry the carpet faster, set your thermostat to 70 degrees and turn on ceiling fans to help move the air around.
-
Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum, immediately after your carpets are dry and on a regular basis. Vacuuming regularly will remove a majority of the soils that get trapped in your carpet. Based on industry standards and the level of appearance you desire, the recommended frequencies to have your carpeting cleaned are:
